Research & Analytics
Social Science Research
My current research agenda revolves around issues at the intersection of information, technology, behavior, and performance improvement across disciplines and sectors. By drawing on theoretical frameworks from economics and social psychology and integrating modern research methods, I study how various tools alleviate information asymmetry and how information can improve decision-making for better individual and organizational outcomes. As the economy and society become increasingly technology and information-dependent, those and other frameworks present fruitful avenues for research.
Applied Research and Analytics
Over the last ten years, I have provided expert technical support in many applied research projects at Georgia State University. In my current role as a research assistant with the Center of Professional Excellence at Georgia State University, I provide technical assistance in designing and maintaining survey instruments and dynamic online reports to evaluate professional development and training programs in Georgia. My past work with the Public Performance and Management Group focused on deploying and maintaining survey instruments, collecting data, conducting quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and developing reports in a series of customer satisfaction, workplace quality/employee satisfaction, and overall performance evaluation research projects with a broad range of customers.
The following are some of the projects where I provided expert technical assistance:
-
Assessing employee engagement and satisfaction in Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) in 2016. The project measured employee perceptions of the workplace, satisfaction, engagement, and commitment to customer service.
-
A project with the State Road and Tollway Authority assessing customer satisfaction with the I-85 express lanes, Peach Pass account management, and Peach Pass customer service. The project was conducted in 2012 and again in 2014.
-
A project with the State Road and Tollway Authority gathering feedback from employees about their perceptions of the quality of their workplace and overall satisfaction. The project was conducted in 2013 and 2014.
-
A series of projects assessing customer satisfaction with the services offered by Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL), which is responsible for meeting the childcare and early education needs of Georgia’s children and their families. The project work began in 2012 and continued into 2015.
-
A project assessing workplace satisfaction in a set of agencies in the State of Georgia. The participating agencies include Georgia Department of Revenue, Georgia Department of Corrections, and the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. This work continued from 2010 until 2014.
-
Research lead on a project evaluating the effectiveness of the S.T.A.R.T. (Services to Advance, Reach, and Teach Youth) program sponsored by Fulton County in 2010.
